Been away.....

Once again side tracked....

Between four grandchildren stepping up in school at end of term, endless/new health issues, trying to finish my "Creative" room which also meant moving my office/music room to bedroom and living room (which was no small feat and a zillion other things the weeks just slipped away.

Then we had four grandchildren's and son in law's birthdays and grandchildren each wanted to come for an extended visit even though they only lived a few miles away. Summer means longer visits than the school weekend visits.

I am exhausted to say the least and it's left no time to create anything. But I've been busy painting and recycling furniture from other rooms to use in the Creating room, as my intention is always to re-purpose or recycle if possible. And I went for a totally different color scheme from my usual black and white. But so far I love it.

Next Thursday my ODD and I are off the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Valley Forge, Pa, as we go every year and the days there are a welcome relief from the daily routine. Looking forward to some new classes being offered for a change.

Then on my return my room will be completed, supplies will be replenished and creating will be started.

Hopefully I'll post come pictures of the room, photographer I'm not but my son in law gave me a great lamp to use and lights so that should help. Wish I had taken before pictures. Crap.

Hoping to get back on track....

Have spent the last month building, decorating and organizing my "Creating" room. It was a huge undertaking but I think I finally have it pretty much how I want it. Except for a new table but that is on the wist list for now..I'll make do with a antique drop leaf table that I stole from the living room. It took much longer than I had expected due to health issues but that is another story. I got some more very bad news in that department. Trying to deal with it mentally and physically and what course of action to take. One requires major surgery with no guarantee of a positive outcome.

So now my plan is to make a list of two projects every day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon and they must be completed before going to bed unless they are large projects. Or one large project each day.

I came to the conclusion that the more free time you have the less you get accomplished as you just tell yourself..I can always do it tomorrow. When I worked 60 hours a week I accomplished far more than I do now that I am home 24/7.

I read on a girls blog that she decided to make a list of 20 things to needed to accomplish everyday. They did not need to be huge projects just everyday things but they needed to be done before bedtime. So I cased her idea and that is my new game plan.

I'm hoping to put this in effect on Monday. No more slacking off.

This is a page from a Art Journal I'm working on...

No excuse....got sidetracked

Just that time of the year....the brain gets sidetracked with projects and spring cleaning both of the mind and house. Have been purging everything in sight but in random order which makes no sense.

Was doing fantastic working on projects than hit a brick wall and now am blank but hoping that will change with the art canvas project I started with my daughter on Wednesday.

Have a great day.

Busy week....

Has been a busy week. My grand daughter, age 13 came for 4 days which was great fun and we has a blast. Spent hours stamping and coloring images with watercolor markers and Copic's...she is getting very good and loves it. Wish she could have stayed longer but her time must be shared with her three brothers....the masters of all things Lego. One will arrive tomorrow. By Sunday I will need a vacation or a maid...one or the other.

Have been working on a Art Journal which I have never done before...rather painful as I am not a "artist". But I am determined not to give up and to all 52 pages then hand bind them into a journal.

Watch this amazing video today...new stamps and great technique using Distress Ink and nibs. Thought I would share and pass along.

Enjoy!
